Q: What is your health and safety policy?

In line with current mandates, we no longer required proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter the Fox Theater – Oakland. However, we still strongly encourage you to get vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already! For more information, please visit our Health & Safety page.

We appreciate everyone’s participation in helping us safely bring shows back to the Bay Area. We encourage everyone to sign up for CA Notify as an added layer of protection for themselves and the community to receive alerts when you have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19 and to please get vaccinated if you have not already! If you still need to schedule your vaccine, visit vaccines.gov or COVID19.ca.gov/vaccines for more information and to book your appointment!

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

The Fox Theater is currently cashless. Cash payments are not accepted at our box office, bar, merch store or coat check. We accept all cards and Apple Pay. Say goodbye to ATM fees and hello to a faster, more convenient way to pay!

Q: When do tickets go on sale?

On sale dates vary, but shows usually go on sale on Fridays at 10am. The best way to receive advance notice of upcoming shows is to join our mailing list.

Q: Can I buy tickets at the door on the day of the event?

If there are still tickets available to purchase on the day of the event, you may purchase them in person at the box office. Some shows sell very quickly and do not always have tickets available on the day of the show, so we suggest you buy tickets ahead of time. The Fox Theater box office is open 30 minutes prior to doors.

Q: What is a presale? How do I participate or get a password?

Presales are an opportunity to secure your tickets in advance of the general on sale. Presale passwords are listed on our website and sent out in our weekly newsletter.

Q: When do the doors open for a show?

The doors typically open one hour prior to show time, although this may vary from show to show. Please refer to the event listing at www.thefoxoakland.com or www.apeconcerts.com for the most up-to-date information.

Q: Are there any opening acts at the show?

All support acts will be listed on our concert calendar. Support acts are often added close to the show date, so make sure to check back often.

Q: What can I bring to the show?

You may bring in small food items, sealed water bottles, empty plastic refillable water bottles and small personal bags and backpacks. For the comfort and safety of everyone, please do not bring in the following items: strollers, signs larger than 8.5″ x 11″,  large backpacks, alcohol, cans, bottles, weapons of any kind, pets. Due to most performer’s requests, no professional recording devices are allowed. The Fox Theater is a non-smoking facility.

Q: How do I purchase tickets for an event?

Tickets for all Fox Theater shows are available through Ticketmaster online at Ticketmaster.com.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Fox Theater box office, open 30 minutes prior to doors at each event.

Q: Does the Fox Theater serve food?

Food is available for purchase at every show. A special menu is served in The Den and includes vegetarian/vegan options. There are also a number of restaurants near the Fox Theater, and you can click here to see our recommendations.

Q: Where is lost and found?

While at a performance, please visit coat check on the mezzanine level if you have lost something. If you realize you lost an item after leaving the venue, please fill out the form here or email [email protected] with a detailed description of the item.

Q: How do I get to the theater?

The Fox Theater is located at 1807 Telegraph Ave in Oakland, CA. Click here for more info on parking and directions.

Q: Where can I park?

In addition to street parking around the venue, there are also several outdoor parking lots nearby. We recommend the Franklin Plaza Garage, which you can enter on 19th Street in between Franklin and Broadway on the left hand side. Parking is $5 flat rate parking for events after 5:00pm on weekdays, and all day on weekends. Check out more lot hours and availability here.

Q: How do I purchase wheelchair accessible tickets?

To purchase wheelchair accessible seating, click the “request accessible tickets” link on the Ticketmaster event page or order in person at the Fox Theater box office.

Q: Can I get a refund or exchange my tickets?

All tickets are purchased on a no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations basis and are only usable for the day, date and time selected at the time of purchase.

Q: When can I pick up my WILL CALL tickets?

The will call window opens 30 minutes prior to doors at the Fox Theater box office. Be sure to bring photo ID, the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets, and your Ticketmaster order number as any or all of these may be required for ticket pick up.

Q: Do you have a coat check at the theater?

Yes. The coat check is located upstairs to the left as you walk into the theater. It is open every show and costs $3.00 per item.

Q: Are there restaurants or bars within walking distance of the Fox?

There are several restaurants and bars near the Fox Theater. Click here for our recommendations.

Q: Does my child need a ticket?

Yes, everyone requires a ticket regardless of age. Children under four years of age are discouraged except for events specifically geared towards children.

Q: Can anyone regardless of age attend a show at the Fox Theater?

While most shows at the Fox Theater are all ages, some may have age restrictions. Any age restrictions will be listed on the event detail page and ticket link.

Q: How can I meet the band?

The Fox Theater does not offer backstage access or meet and greet passes. Occasionally, a radio station or fan club may offer a meet and greet, but the Fox Theater typically does not have access to these passes.

Q: Can I smoke in the theater?

The Fox Theater has a smoking section both upstairs and downstairs that patrons may use during the show. Any member of the Fox Theater’s staff can direct you to the smoking section.

Q: I have seats number 103 and 105 in the balcony. Are those next to each other?

Yes. Seats in the loge, mezzanine, and balcony, are numbered all odd on one side of the theater and all even on the other.
