LOOSE THREADS is a new live experience spotlighting the most resonant voices from across the South Asian music scene, weaving together a tapestry of stories across genres, subcultures and communities. Curated by D36, LOOSE THREADS launches its inaugural show in the Bay Area in partnership with Another Planet Entertainment at The Fox Theater in Oakland.

It is the spaces which bring our vulnerabilities to the surface and force us to look at our true selves that appear to enchant Prateek Kuhad. Lauded by Rolling Stone India as “one of the country’s leading singersongwriters,” Kuhad’s cinematic songwriting reminds us that great music can often make intimacy feel expansive. A pair of early EPs put Kuhad on the map, followed by his full-length debut in 2017, In Tokens and Charms, which earned Kuhad Indie Album of the Year honors from iTunes. In 2018, his EP “cold/mess” debuted at #1 on Spotify India. He maintained this momentum with “Kasoor” in 2020, which became the first independently released track in India to claim the #1 spot on Apple Music’s allgenre chart. Released in 2022, The Way That Lovers Do earned new fanfare, with “Co2” now becoming his most-streamed track. Kuhad has headlined festivals like Lollapalooza India and sold out headline tours across North America, Europe, UK, Asia, and the Middle East. 2026 marks the arrival of Kuhad’s third studio album, Full Moon Chamber, via Atlantic Records. For the unfamiliar, Weston Estate are a North Carolina-bred, NYC-based band of boys full of young rage and parasocial gaze. Since forming in 2017, they’ve lived up to the latter ambition amassing a catalog that now sits at 282.5M streams worldwide and counting. Highlighted by genre-busting tracks such as “Pears” (off their debut Maggie Valley EP) and “Slowly,” the band pulled inspiration from artists across the board from the likes of Daniel Caesar, Young Thug, and Frank Ocean to Coldplay and The Strokes mixed with their own South Asian influences. Weston Estate is carving out a new space entirely their own.

Akshara is a South Asian independent artist and singer-songwriter blending the emotional depth of Indian melodies with the edge of Western alternative music. Rooted in years of film scoring experience with A.R. Rahman, she brings a cinematic, genre-defying quality to her sound—emotive, textured, and globally resonant. Now based in Los Angeles, she’s performed on major stages, including a spotlight performance for T-Series, and her music has garnered over 500,000 streams across platforms, connecting with listeners from Mumbai to New York, with co-signs from Raveena, Aluna and M.I.A. her upcoming EP, dropping this fall features a run of striking singles including “placeicomefrom,” “glass,” and “orbit.”
