The whimsical, stylized disco of French alternative dance group L’Impératrice was the brainchild of keyboardist/composer Charles de Boisseguin. After releasing a series of EPs beginning in 2012 and adding a dedicated singer along the way, the band issued their first album, Matahari, in 2018. They followed up with Tako Tsubo in 2021.
Erick the Architect is a celebrated artist and a sought-after collaborator. As a founding member and primary producer of Flatbush Zombies, Erick has accomplished some incredible feats including 900 million streams across all platforms, Billboard 200 debuts and performing at of the world’s most prestigious festivals including Coachella and Lollapalooza.
With supergroup Beast Coast, Erick has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In 2021, Erick released his debut solo EP “Future Proof EP” and has garnered 134M streams on just Apple Music and Spotify. Erick also released a remix EP of the song “Let It Go” ft. Loyle Carner & FARR.
He just released his debut album “I’ve Never Been Here Before, went on a solo worldwide tour, scored a film, and is featured on new released from Alison Wonderland (Whyte Fang), Jungle, Kimbra, L’Imperatrice and more.
I’ve Never Been Here Before dissects the world through 16 diverse yet cohesive tracks, divided into four thematic song sets: Fearlessness, Black Resilience, Beauty in Darkness, and Unity. Fearlessness provides a turbocharged entryway into Erick’s mind, perhaps best embodied in the nimble and muscly “Parkour”. Experimental electronic hero James Blake produced multiple tracks for the record, and here his woozy synth bubbles, clacking percussion, and mile-deep sub-bass provide a heady platform.
