The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) announced it will provide complimentary Municipal Railway (Muni) service on New Year's Eve from 8 p.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 to 6 a.m., Friday, January 1, 2010 for the tenth consecutive year

Caltrain (www.caltrain.com) will depart its final New Years train from the 4th and King streets Station at 2:15 a.m., Jan. 1. All Caltrain and Samtrans service will be free after 11:00 p.m., Wednesday.

BART (www.bart.org) will provide additional service and stations will remain open until approximately 3 a.m., Jan. 1. BART service to the East Bay will be separated between Embarcadero and Montgomery stations. Pittsburg/Bay Point and Richmond trains will stop at Montgomery (not Embarcadero) and Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont trains will stop at Embarcadero (not Montgomery).

Bay-Area native Brett Dennen closes 2009 with a special New Years Eve celebration at Oakland's recently refurbished Fox Theatre. Joining Brett are friends and neighbors ALO and SambaDa plus several local musicians at a party destined to be the Bay-Area kick-off to 2010.

The performance marks Brett's first local headline since selling out two nights at the legendary Fillmore. He also recently engaged thousands at the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in Golden Gate Park and supported Jason Mraz for a sold out show at Berkeley's Greek Theatre. The show completes a highly successful year for Brett supporting his most recent release Hope For The Hopeless, which appropriately begins with Bay-Area homage, "San Francisco".
