Stick Figure
From the musical imagination of Scott Woodruff emerges a vibrant sonic soundscape, revealed in the newest Stick Figure release, Set in Stone. As with his previous releases, Set in Stone was written, produced and recorded by Woodruff, a self‐taught musician.
An intuitive and accomplished producer, Woodruff crafts authentic artistry from the foundation of roots‐dub reggae. Cavernous grooves, sparkling electronic orchestration and thick rhythms; songs and sounds that have incubated in a studio cabin in the woods near Santa Cruz, CA, where Woodruff found solace excavating a foundation and constructing a studio, all in preparation for his most ambitious recording to date. When completed, a brotherhood of hard‐jamming musicians delivers this widescreen soundtrack in concert performances of consciousness‐altering emancipation.
With Woodruff as the genial on‐stage figurehead, Stick Figure concerts are gatherings distinguished by extended improvisational interludes, the mind‐manifesting hues of a light show, and the much‐anticipated entrance of the band’s canine mascot, a rescued Australian Shepherd, Cocoa The Tour Dog. The release of Set in Stone is a culmination of a journey that has seen the producer go from a mysterious figure to becoming a major player in the scene, virtually inventing a melodic subgenre, at a time reggae is reaching new heights of popularity.
Twiddle
Every Last Leaf , the fifth full-length studio album from Vermont quartet Twiddle, is a bold exploration of the cyclical nature of life. Propelled by constant evolution in its 18 years touring, the band —Mihali Savoulidis [vocals, guitar], Ryan Dempsey [keys, organ, synth], Brook Jordan [drums], and Zdenek Gubb [bass], welcomes a musical rebirth, leaning heavily on enigmatically stoic songwriting in lieu of the affably saccharine. Longtime listeners can expect an elevated presentation of Twiddle’s trademark sound, delicately orbiting the worlds of funk, jazz, rock, reggae, and bluegrass.
“Every Last Leaf is a metaphor for life,” Mihali explains. “When a leaf falls to the ground, something will grow from it. Everything is part of this grand circle. In the music, we’re exploring all of life’s sides—from the sad and angry to the proud and happy.”
Known for jaw-dropping live performances, the group has repeatedly sold out some of the most legendary venues in the world, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Capitol Theatre. Plus, they’ve ignited festivals such as Bonnaroo and Electric Forest in addition to launching and headlining their own annual extravaganza Tumble Down Festival. Along the way, they have built a powerful catalog highlighted by the 2017 double-disc epic Plump (Chapters 1 & 2). Thus far, they’ve also gathered over 100 million streams and counting. Throughout 2021, Twiddle wrote and recorded Every Last Leaf. For the first time, they teamed up with producer Clint Bierman behind-the-board, recording in Sugar Shack, Mihali’s home studio, and Clint’s own spot.
“It was a blast,” smiles Mihali. “Having a good time was important to all of us. It was more relaxed with a lot less pressure. We’d never worked with a producer before. We tried it out with Clint, vibed with him, and went with it. We expanded the sound and added a lot of layers. There are also three- and four-part vocal harmonies, which we’ve never really done in the past. It was a different process.”
In the end, Twiddle have creatively found their way on Every Last Leaf.
“When you listen to this, I hope you experience the beauty we did,” he leaves off. “If you feel anything at all, mission accomplished. There are a lot of moments on this album that tie up the elements of life. It’s real.”

Listen, breathe. The kick drum is thumping in an offset rhythm to your beating heart and the bass is thundering vibrations through your entire body, tuning you into the stage and every other person standing in the crowd. Lightning strikes in your mind as dueling guitar riffs peel away the fog and a keyboard bubble floats loftily like clouds over it all. Then come the lyrics, messages of connection and grace. Ease flows through the entire scene and you’re awoken by the tingle of resonance on your skin. Do you feel it? This is Iya Terra. Iya Terra means higher ground, which they seem to find everywhere. Whether it be the top of the latest charts or next year’s festival billing, Iya Terra is constantly climbing.
Bringing a modern-conscious approach to songwriting, Iya Terra crafts messages in love & respect. Currently based out of LA, and with members hailing from the west coast, SLC, and Vegas, their powerful rhythm section provides the heartbeat over which scintillating guitars and soothing vocals float melodies of universal resonance.
Iya Terra released their first EP in 2014, then a debut album “Full Circle” in 2015. Then came the album that aligned the stars, “Sacred Sound” debuted at #1 on the reggae charts and the band’s following has swelled ever since. Their third full length release and second reggae chart topping album “Coming to Light” followed in 2019. Kicking off 2021 with new music, they show no sign of slowing down.
